Vieux Millésimes
Old Millésimes
1996: The year 1996 is marked by a cold year which gives the wine a nice potential of keeping thanks to a nice acidity. A pleasant nose on freshness, notes of pastry, pastry cream and almond. On the palate we find a nice tension with notes of candied oranges and citrus fruits. A beautiful minerality arrives in the final and brings finesse and length.
1995: The vintage 95 can be summarized in a few words, healthy harvest with fairly low maturities. From its straw-colored robe, this vintage reveals all the opulence and richness of the Pinot Noir. We find some oxidative notes on the quince paste, the dried fruits and the zests of oranges.
We advise to carafer this wine in order to appreciate it at its true value.
1992: This vintage is called solar, and has a very good maturity. A very nice evolution on aromas of tertiary has just seduce us. There are brioche notes and Viennese pastries. The palate is very well balanced, the patina turns on the almond paste, the honey and the calisson d'Aix. The finish remains on the finesse and the freshness.
1991: This vintage is rather "rare" in champagne marked by its low harvest. Unfortunately, the spring frost destroyed much of the crop.
However the remaining production was of very good quality. The wine has kept all its youth. The nose reveals Pinot Noir, with spicy notes and licorice. The mouth opens with notes of blood orange and raspberry brandy. We also find the compote of mirabelles which gives way to an elegant finale.
1990: Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful vintages of the century, a cold year and a water stress in summer have allowed to produce a harvest perfectly healthy and beautiful matures. A very expressive nose on notes of almond, roast, spices and balsamic. A mouth equally elegant, with a beautiful length, spicy notes, honeyed and cooked apricots. A very pleasant and well balanced finish.
1989: The vintage 89 is also one of the most famous vintages of Champagne. A solar year, with very beautiful maturities. A wine that deserves to open. A nice evolution on notes patinated and mentholées. The mouth keeps a very nice generosity, it is very easy and accessible to all, it will come to entice novice tasters and more experienced. The whole is harmonious and very well balanced, all with a very nice length.
